4 Most Overlooked MBA Programs

If you look at the top five business school rankings, you will notice that the list is dominated by Ivy league schools. Unfortunately for most students the cost of an MBA from one of these elite schools is simply too much. There's also the fact that most students simply will not meet the admissions requirements for any of these schools. Not to worry, there are plenty of excellent MBA programs at schools all over the country that many students overlook. Here are four that we believe deserve an extra look in particular.

  1. University of Louisiana at Monroe

The University of Louisiana at Monroe offers a flexible MBA program that includes both day and evening classes, along with the option to take many courses online. This makes it perfect for working adults who want to finish up their graduate degrees and earn the perks of having a Masters in Business administration. The school also has a partnership with Shue Yan University in Hong Kong. Students who elect to attend school in Hong Kong will take all of the same classes they would in Louisiana, but will also gain the benefits of studying in one of the world's major economic hubs.

  1. University of Houston at Victoria

Students who wish to earn an MBA degree shouldn't complete their search without taking a look at the University of Houston at Victoria. The university offers both a strategic and a global MBA program. The global MBA program is for students who are business professionals that wish to lead corporations on the international stage, or they are recent BBA graduates who wish to further their education and develop more leadership skills. The strategic MBA program is tailored for students and business professionals who wish to develop their skills as business strategists. They will then use these skills post graduation to lead companies into the future. Students who are recent graduates with degrees in business administration may be able to complete these programs in as little as thirty hours.

  1. UCLA Anderson School of Management

Some people say that business school rankings reflect a serious bias towards East Coast Schools. This may be why Anderson is so frequently overlooked. What a shame. Anderson offers students a unique MBA program where collaboration is valued over competition. Anderson students are not only offered the opportunity to earn a degree, they will attend classes on a campus known for its culture and diversity. Of course, it would be remiss to mention UCLA without mentioning beautiful and always bustling Southern California.

  1. Kellogg School of Management Northwestern University

Kellogg offers 4 distinct MBA programs. The first is a one year program that gives students who have met all of the undergraduate requirements a fast path to completing their MBA. The second is a two year program that provides students with a more enriched graduate degree experience. Third, is the MMM program, which is perfect for students who are interested in tech as well as business. Finally, there is the JD-MBA program. This is perfect for students who wish to pursue corporate law as a career.
